How to play
- Every day at midnight (EAT) there are 7 new prompts, the same for everyone in Kenya.
- Give one answer per prompt, like “Name a Kenyan county”. You have 25 seconds for each. When time runs out, whatever you've typed is sent; answers that arrive late score 0 m.
- Rare answers dig deeper. Say Nairobi and you'll barely scratch the surface. Say Tharaka-Nithi and you'll go down hundreds of metres.
- Answers that aren't on our list score 0 m. Spelling is forgiving: Muranga, Murang'a and muranga county all count.
- Add up all 7 prompts to see which part of the Rift Valley you reached. You can dig up to 7,000 m.
How depth is scored
Each answer earns up to 1,000 m. The fewer players who gave the same answer today, the deeper you go. Halving the share of players who agree with you adds about 100 m. Early in the day, before many people have played, we use our best guess at how common each answer is. Your score is locked in the moment you answer.
Shallow: 0–249 m
Medium: 250–499 m
Deep: 500–749 m
Very deep: 750+ m
Not on the list: 0 m
